Get Fair is asking volunteers to lobby their MP on 26-27 June as part of its campaign to end poverty in the UK.
Church Urban Fund is one of over sixty charities which make up the Get Fair coalition. Get Fair is calling for the existing commitment to end child poverty by 2020 to be extended to tackle poverty across all generations in the UK, and it is keeping pressure on the main UK political parties to make sure that fighting poverty remains on the agenda.
That's where you can help. Get Fair is organising a national lobby to highlight the need for MPs to work to eliminate poverty and create a fairer society. For the lobby to be successful, we need to find local organisers in as many parliamentary constituencies as possible. We're holding regional briefing events throughout April which will provide you with everything you need to know – from detail on the campaign and the purpose of the lobby, to how to organise a delegation and put across an effective case to your MP.
Our briefings will be held at the following places:
- Sheffield - Central URC (60 Norfolk Street, Sheffield S1 2JB) 7-9pm, Wednesday 1 April
- Taunton - Belvedere Trading Estate (exact location to be confirmed), 3-5pm, Thursday 2 April
